If You Can Afford A Vacation - You Can Afford A Cruise!

!±8± If You Can Afford A Vacation - You Can Afford A Cruise!

Some vacations are just more fun than others!

There will be very few times in your life when you are completely free. Free from cares, responsibilities, chores, deadlines, timetables, ringing phones or demanding voices. It's time to start planning for such a vacation and you feel overwhelmed by all the choices.

You may be looking for a place the whole family can enjoy. Perhaps a romantic vacation or a place to meet people. At the same time you want great value for your money. Seem like an impossible task? Then maybe you haven't considered cruising.

With so many destinations and so much to do on today's cruise ships it is becoming a very popular alternative to more traditional vacations. Hold on a minute, you might be thinking, I thought cruises were not for me.

Not anymore. Dance clubs, sports facilities, live entertainment, movies, classes, casinos and supervised children's activities are just a few examples of how cruise ships are catering to people of all walks of life.

One of the main benefits of cruising is it's all inclusive nature. The cost includes all the meals, 24 hour room service, cabin and entertainment just to name a few. Once you're on board you'll be amazed at the variety of activities and land excursions to choose from - or you can choose to do nothing but lounge on the deck.

Get ready to be pampered in a safe and relaxing environment. The high quality and worry free environment will make it a true escape from the "real world". And what other vacation hotel lets you go to sleep at night and wake up to a new country at your front door every morning?

Enjoy fine dining every night at your reserved table. Go ahead, taste several appetizers. Try more than one soup. If you can't decide between two salads, have both. Every night indulge yourself with such international entrees as Beef Wellington and Duck a l'Orange.

And never say no to desserts that can include such masterpieces as Baked Alaska. Every meal is an event designed just for you. So satisfy your every craving, and then walk out of the dining room without ever paying a bill.

Oops, eat too much? Staying in shape is easy. Every floating resort has a spa facility featuring state of the art gym equipment and aerobics classes. And you'll love jogging on deck in the fresh sea air. Then relax, have a massage, steam or sauna or just a dip in the swimming pool.

If you think you're always surrounded by other guests, think again. On your ship it's easy to find a quiet corner to contemplate the sea, read a book from the library, hold that intimate conversation or just count your blessings.

Whether you're a newlywed or celebrating your 50th anniversary, you'll feel the special magic of being on a cruise ship miles out to sea. Which isn't to say singles won't enjoy a sea going vacation. As a matter of fact they'll have a blast.

Whether you love musicals, hard rock, country or big band you'll find ships playing your song. In the showroom you'll cheer the Vegas-style revues. Don't plan on deep conversation in the high energy dance club; save your talks for the friends you'll meet at the sing-along piano bar, or for each other as you stroll along the deck before turning in.

Nothing on earth compares to the value of a cruise vacation. Because on a cruise one low price covers just about everything. All your meals are included. Almost every shipboard activity is included. Even the entertainment is included.

Compare that to most land vacations when you're constantly faced with the added expenses and hassles of reservations, valet parking, buying theater tickets and searching for things to do.

Can you afford a cruise? Absolutely!

And what land vacation can take you from one exotic destination to another while you dance and dine or dream the night away!

Disneyland Tour - 5 Disneyland Tours to Make Your Disneyland Vacation More Interesting

!±8± Disneyland Tour - 5 Disneyland Tours to Make Your Disneyland Vacation More Interesting

No Disneyland vacation should be considered complete without a Disneyland tour. This is especially true if it's your first time at Disneyland.

Currently you have five different tours to choose from and you have to have your admission to Disneyland park paid in order to go on any of them. It's also a good idea to make reservations in advance for the tours you want to take.

The Welcome to Disneyland Tour

The Welcome to Disneyland Tour is great for first timers. It cost only per person and comes with a lot of benefits such as priority seating at one of the stage shows, priority seating at one of the restaurants, instructions on how to use FastPass plus two bonus FastPass tickets, tips and suggestions for getting the most from your Disneyland vacation, and more.

Disneyland's Discover the Magic Tour

Disneyland's Discover the Magic Tour is probably the most popular tour. On it you'll be looking for clues along with Disneyland characters in your hunt for treasure. You'll be outsmarting the Disney bad guys and living out any Disneyland fantasy you might have had. This tour comes with lunch and an exclusive gift that's only available on the tour.

The Discover the Magic Tour

The Discover the Magic Tour is a three-hour tour. There's a two-ticket minimum. The first two tickets cost each and every additional ticket will cost . It's geared towards 5 - 9 year olds and adults.

The VIP Tour

The VIP Tour is approximately four hours and cost per hour per party of up to 10 people. You should book the VIP Tour well in advance or you'll be charged an additional . It's not recommended for children. It's designed for people who would like to know more of Disneyland's history and have a deep rooted interest in Disney.

A Walk in Walt's Footsteps

A Walk in Walt's Footsteps is also geared towards adults. It concentrates on the vision of Walt Disney and is filled with trivia about the park along with its history. It's a bit over three hours long, costs per person, and features a peek at the exclusive Club 33.

Take the Grandchildren to Walt Disney World

!±8± Take the Grandchildren to Walt Disney World

What better opportunity to spoil the grandchildren than a trip to "The Most Magical Place on Earth". And spoil them you can with so many things to see and do that children as well as adults will absolutely love. It's a vacation guaranteed to create lasting memories. Here are some suggestions that will make this very special trip one to remember for a lifetime:

Book a Resort with a Great Pool

Kids love swimming pools, and Disney resorts come with some of the best. Children's favorites: the Volcano Pool at Disney's Polynesian Resort featuring a smoking volcano slide, underwater music, and sparkling waterfall, all with a superb view of the Seven Seas Lagoon; the Wilderness Lodge's boulder-lined pool featuring glistening waterfalls, rocky overlooks, a fun water slide, and nearby geyser; the eye-popping Stormalong Bay, a mini-water park complex that meanders between the Yacht and Beach Club, offering three acres of winding, watery delight including sandy bottom pools, a giant "shipwreck" waterslide, tidal whirlpool, bubbling hot tubs, a kiddie pool with its own slide next to the beach, and enough length to float lazily in inner tubes to your heart's delight.

Plan a Meal with Disney Characters

If you're traveling with young children, at least one or two character meals are a must. These extremely popular dining spots, offered at both the theme parks and the Disney resort hotels, are a perfect way for the grandchildren to spend extra time with their favorite characters. Young ladies don their favorite Disney princess costumes at Restaurant Akershus in Epcot's Norway pavilion to dine with Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Belle, while both boys and girls alike adore the Fantasyland breakfast and lunch offered at the Magic Kingdom's Cinderella's Royal Table. Just be sure to call 407-WDW-DINE exactly 180 days prior at 7 a.m. Eastern time to assure yourselves a spot at these coveted venues.

Head Over to Ft. Wilderness for a Campfire Sing-along

Gather 'round the campfire each evening at Disney's Ft. Wilderness for a sing-along, marshmallow roast, and a Disney animated movie. It's complimentary to all Walt Disney World resort guests.

Start Your Day Early at the Magic Kingdom

Most mornings one of Disney's theme parks opens an hour early only for guests staying at a Disney resort. It's a perfect opportunity to knock off the big name attractions, particularly in the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland, where waits can sometimes be extremely lengthy during normal park hours.

Don't Miss the Magic Kingdom's Afternoon Parade and Evening Fireworks

The wonderful Disney Dreams Come True Parade is Disney's best where giant floats are topped with live Disney characters, all accompanied by over a hundred walking characters and a medley of classic Disney songs. And the Jiminy Cricket narrated nighttime fireworks display is probably the most magical experience in all of Disney.

Take a Spin on a SeaRaycer

Rent one of these two-seater mini-power boats for zipping around one of Disney's waterways. The grandkids will love you for it. They're available at the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, the Yacht and Beach Club, Downtown Disney, and the Wilderness Lodge.

Head to a Water Park for a Splashing Good Time

Disney has two of the most fantastic water parks imaginable, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, each offering their own brand of wonder. At Blizzard Beach you'll find quite a few tame attractions along with wild, rushing water and death-defying slides. Typhoon Lagoon offers a whopper of a surf pool. But both have wonderful children's areas with smaller versions of the adult attractions. There are even areas for the adolescent set.

Disney Vacation Club: Is It For Everyone?

!±8± Disney Vacation Club: Is It For Everyone?

If you haven't noticed, and, let's face it you have, Walt Disney is pretty proud of their Disney Vacation Club (DVC for short). You see advertisements for it practically everywhere at Walt Disney World Resort - stickers, pins, kiosks, billboards, bus sides, and a dedicated TV channel. Unfortunately, Disney, in an attempt to keep their slogan short, sweet, and to the point, has resulted in most of these advertisements telling you nothing other than that the Disney Vacation Club is just for you - but is it? Here are a few ways to tell.

Do you have the money?
First and foremost, do you have the money to pay for a Disney Vacation Club membership? Disney claims that they will save you up to 70% with this program, but if you read all of the fine print and such, it may not be true for you. If you have to go into debt, or start a Disney Vacation Club finance contract to pay for your membership, it's a bad idea. You'll lose any savings you might earn as a member of the DVC in the interest alone. Of course, only you, not the Disney marketers know this.

Is the upgrade in accommodations worth it?
This depends on who you are - there is a good chance that you are fine with the accommodations you already have at Walt Disney World Resort. Mouse Keeping is convenient, and it's just you and a friend, so there is plenty of room. If you have a large family who loves Disney - and after all, who doesn't? - who loves to go on Disney vacations together, you may find the upgrade in accommodations invaluable, on account of the kitchen, in-room-Internet, and available laundry facilities. If you like the idea of vacationing at a home away from home, then you will most certainly find the upgrade in accommodations worth the money.

Planning Ahead
Being a member of the DVC requires you to plan your vacations ahead of time, big time. For example, most resorts are booked solid 6 - 7 - 8 months in advance. Not only that, but in order to make the cost of your DVC membership worthwhile, you and your family will need to guarantee that they will take 1 Walt Disney World of Disneyland vacation every 3 years for the next... oh, say... about 40 years. The DVC features a banking and borrowing system that keeps this number from being one Disney vacation every year. If you cannot commit to this, the DVC will not be worth the time and money that you invest in it.

Ultimately, the choice is yours. Besides getting the program itself, being a DVC member means that you get access to special DVC "members-only" events and such throughout the year. You also get a discount on the Annual Pass. Keep in mind that DVC is a program whose goal is to make Disney vacations more appealing to Disney fans - partially pre-paying for Disney vacations for practically the rest of your life. This sounds like a ridiculous concept, but keep in mind that it wouldn't exist if it were not right for many, many folks. Really do your research and talk with some people who have the DVC or some of the nice Disney Employees at one of the DVC kiosks before making your decision. You may be surprised at what you find.
